How SlipHound works.
New here, or coming back? SlipHound predicts every game, compares that with the sportsbook’s price, and shows you where the odds look off. Here’s the whole idea.
From prediction to public record.
The same process runs for every game, every night.
- 01
The model predicts the game
For every game we estimate each side’s chance to win and a projected final score, using years of results, team and player strength, pace, rest and travel. That chance is ours alone. It doesn’t come from the betting odds.
- 02
We compare it with the sportsbook
Odds also imply a chance. If the book’s price implies 45% but our model says 52%, that bet has positive expected value (EV): over many bets like it, it should return more than it costs. That’s a value bet.
- 03
You see the evidence
Each pick shows the model’s chance, the price, the value, the matchup’s recent form, head-to-head and betting trends. You decide what to bet.
- 04
We grade everything in public
Every pick is saved before the game and graded after it on our accuracy page, wins and losses. You can download the whole dataset.
Picking winners isn’t finding value.
A likely winner can be a bad bet, and a coin flip can be a good one. It depends on the price.
The odds imply 80%. The team usually wins, but the price asks for more than that.
The odds imply 47.6%. A near coin flip, but it wins more often than the price assumes.
